Yadkin Islands Trail is a 5 miles trail that has two access points. Either way, you will cross the Yadkin River three times and weave around on two islands. Yadkin River Trail may be combined with Woodland Corridor Trail and Grassy Ridge Trail to make an approximate 12 mile one-way trip through hardwood forests, woodsy shrub forests, lowlands crossing roads, rivers and an active railroad track.
Directions: From Winston-Salem, NC, Two Access Points: Take US 52 north to the Pinnacle. Follow signs for "Horne Creek Living Historical Farm." This section of the park's entrance is .4 miles beyond the entrance to Horne Creek Farm. Travel past the park entrance and you will see horse trailer parking on your right. You may begin trail there. OR Take NC 67 heading northwest out of town. Travel to the little town of East Bend. Turn left on Fairground Road. Turn right on Shady Grove Church Road then right again on Shoals Road and follow it to the parking area where you may access Yadkin Islands Trail.
