Trail Description

This moderately sloped hiking and bridle trail meanders through nearly 6 miles of pine and hardwood forest connecting the mountain and river sections of Pilot Mountain State Park. It then links into the Yadkin Islands Trail, which continues through the river around the islands' edges and finishes along the south shore of the Yadkin River to the East Bend parking lot. Horse may only be unloaded and trailers parked at the lots on each end of the corridor and East Bend parking lot.

Directions: From Winston-Salem, NC, South Section: Take US 52 north to the Pinnacle. Follow signs for "Horne Creek Living Historical Farm." This section of the park's entrance is .4 miles beyond the entrance to Horne Creek Farm. Travel past the park entrance and you will see horse trailer parking on your right. You may begin trail there.North Section: Take US 52 north to the Pinnacle. After turning left on Pinnacle Hotel Road SR 2061, travel a short distance and you will see horse trailer parking on your left. You may begin trail there.

The Woodland Corridor Trail is the path that connects the northern section of the park with the southern section. The trail is approximately 6 miles one-way and considered moderately strenuous.
