Wolf Rock Loop Trail lead to its name sake, Wolf Rock, about .5 mile into the hike. The outcrop is dramatic and the panoramic view marvelous. You may continue your hike onto Cook's Wall Trail offering more spectacular views or circle back to the picnic grove where you will cross the main road to reach your parking area.
Directions: From Danbury, NC, Hanging Rock State Park is located in Stokes County, 4 miles northwest of Danbury. The park entrance is on Moore's Spring Road SR 1001, which lies between NC 8/89 east of the park and NC 66 west of the park. After passing the park entrance turn right and follow the main park road for approximately 1.8 miles turning left into a picnic area and parking lot. Begin on the wide descending Hanging Rock Trail. At about .3 mile Wolf Rock Loop Trail begins.
This loop trail is 1.9 miles and considered moderate.
