Description

Meandering through open timber stands, across rocky hill sides and through lush meadows. Short trails lead to Wolf and Fawn Lakes, good camping spots. Water is also available at Whitehorse Meadows and Fish Creek Valley.

Directions

North end
Turn south off Highway 138 onto Road 28, the Big Camas road, at Copelan Creek. Continue for 13.7 miles, turn left onto Road 2715-950. Go approximately 2 miles, the trailhead is on the east side of the road junction. Umpqua National Forest Map reference number is H-6. Located at Township 28 south, Range 3 east, Section 3.

South end
Turn south off Highway 138 onto Road 37, the Fish Creek road approximately 1/4 mile east of the east entrance to Toketee Ranger Station. Continue for 13 miles to Road 3700-800, the Incense Cedar Loop road. Turn right, go approximately 1 1/2 mile, turn left onto Road 3700-900. The trailhead is at the end of the road, approximately 4 miles.
The trail is also accessible from Highway 230.

Highlights

This trail offers excellent views of large areas which show little of man's impacts.
