Click here to edit!This trail begins with a gradual ascent from the parking area through a mixed hardwood/softwood forest. After 1.3 miles, the trail crosses Forest Road 341, and begins a steeper climb up the mountain. Several switchbacks traverse the dense, mossy hardwood and coniferous forest as the trailnears the summit. On the trailhead, hike north 3.3 miles to the top of Stratton. Climb the fire tower at the top for a panoramic viewof southern Vermont.
DirectionsOff Rt. 100, on Kelley Stand Road, Forest Road 6, drive for approximately 20 minutes, passing the parking area for Grout Pond and Kelley Stand parking. The AT/LT parking area for Stratton Mountain will be on your right.
HighlightsCleared vistas along the trail offer beautiful views of Somerset Reservoir to the south.
