Trail Description

Snake Bight Trail travels south for 1.6 miles reaching the shore of Florida Bay. It is a lovely walk through a tropical hardwood hammock with dozens of tropical tree species. This is a good hike for bird watching, especially on the boardwalk at the end of the trail. Bicycles are permitted on all but the boardwalk. About midway on the trail, you'll see where Rowdy Bend Trail enters from the right. This trail is a 2.6-mile route along an old roadbed through a thick buttonwood forest. It leads up to Main Park Road. This is an enjoyable circuit bike route by traveling Main Park Road back to Snake Bight Trail parking area.

Directions: From Flamingo, FL, Snake Bight Trail is located four miles north of Flamingo just above Mrazek Pond along Main Park Road. Signage is good. (Restrooms available just north at West Lake.)

Snake Bight Trail is available to hikers and bikers.
