Description

The trail leaves Koomer Ridge Campground and follows a dry wooded ridge Northeast to Silvermine Arch (a huge waterfall-step arch below the cliff's ridge line). The trail's plant life consists of pine/hardwood forest. Varying species and shrubs of Mountain Laurel, with intermittent Leafed Dog-Wood, Big Leafed Magnolia and moist heath rhododendron are in abundance beneath the cliff lines and near the arch.

Directions

Turn South off the Mountain Parkway at Slade. KY to Highway 11. Follow Hwy. 11 North 0.1 miles to Hwy. 15. Travel East on Hwy. 15 4.9 miles to Koomer Ridge Campground on the left. Take left fork In campground and park In the backpackers parking lot 634B on left.
