Trail Description

The Service Trail begins on Forest Route 8821 and follows an old skid road for one mile through open stands of spruce to Deadhorse Meadow. The trail crosses Forest Route 8831 and enters a harvest unit, then continues across Smoky and Little Goose Creeks before ending on Middle Trail #26, 0.5 mile northwest of Little Goose Campground.

Portions of the Service Trail follow the original wagon route into the forest built in the early 1900s.


Directions: From Trout Lake, Travel east on State Highway 141 to the forest boundary where 141 becomes Primary Forest Route 24. Follow 24 northeast for approximately five miles to Forest Route 8821. Follow 8821 west for about one mile to the trailhead.

Service Trail is 4.2 miles long and located in the Berry Fields area.
