Description

The trail passes along a wooded ridge with several beautiful overlooks into the gorge area. Vegetation variety Is dry heath rhododendron. Greenbrier. Blueberry and Huckleberry in the understory with overstory of pine hardwood timber.

Directions

Turn South off the Mountain Parkway at Slade. KY to Highway 11. Follow Hwy. 11 North 0.1 miles to Hwy. 15. Travel East. on Hwy. 15 3.2 silos to Tunnel Ridge Road (FDR #39). Follow Tunnel Ridge Road 0-7 miles to the backpacker's parking lot 039A on the left. Travel 0.3 miles on the Pinch-em-tight Trail #223 to the Rush Ridge Trail 0227 on the left.
