Trail Description

Rowland's Creek Falls is the main attraction of this circuit, but the entire multi-use trail offers challenge and striking scenery including bubbling mountain streams. The Falls are the result of water flowing some 150 feet down a hard layer of rock. The trail is moderately difficult and blazed in orange.

0.0 Trailhead at gate of 845
2.8 845 ends, trail continues to left, steep
2.9 Cross creek, begin steep climb
4.1 Follow Old 84 to the left
8.7 Go left through gate onto Rowland's Creek Trail
11.4 Left on FS 643

Directions: From Marion, VA, Take Rt. 16 south to Sugar Grove. Turn right onto Rt. 601 (toward Teas), go 3.5 miles until Rt. 601 becomes Rt. 670 at Teas. Go 4.4 miles on Rt. 670, then veer left onto Rt. 656. Go 1.7 miles and turn left onto Rt. 668. This becomes Forest Service Road 643. The trailhead is the first on your right. Parking is available at several pullouts near the trailhead.

This trail leads to a beautiful waterfalls.
