Trail Description

Gives a view of the Point Outlook Sandstone Formation and gives 360 degree views all the way to the San Juan mountains.

Directions: From Morefield Campground, Point Lookout Trailhead is in the northern corner of Morefield Campground.

Directions

The park entrance is midway between Cortez and Mancos off U.S. 160.
You can reach the trail from the Morefield Amphitheater parking lot.

Highlights

Stunning view of Mancos Canyon, the La Plata Mountains and the entire Four Corners region. Walk carefully along this trail, the trail follows closely along the edge of the escarpment.
