Trail Description

Please Note: The Forest Service maintained portion of the Combs Peak Section of the PCT ends at the northern boundary of Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, about 2 miles north of Combs Peak. This section of trail is 5.1 miles in length and is rated easy to moderately difficult.

Forest maps available at Palomar Ranger District Office located on Black Canyon Road in Ramona.

Directions: From LA Basin, (To reach the northern end of this segment of the PCT) Take Interstate 15 south to Highway 79-Temecula. Travel Hwy. 79 east to Hwy. 371. Take Hwy. 371 east to Kirby Road, about 5 miles west of the junction of 371 and 74.
