This lengthy 20+ mile trail is also called the Genesee Greenway Trail and extends into the 648-mile Finger Lakes Trail. The east side trail is blazed in yellow, however, the park refers to the path as the FLT trail and beyond park boundaries, it is blazed in white. The trail runs the entire length of the park offering several spectacular views of the Upper, Middle and Lower Falls. Traveling through a mixed forest of oak, maple, hickory and pine, the trail is a haven for the resident turkey, white-tailed deer, raccoon, fox, ruffed-grouse, beaver and skunk. This lengthy trail offers quiet solitude away from the more heavily traveled park trails. Sites of the old Pennsylvania Railroad, the Genesee Valley Canal and even a 200-foot waterfall along Deh-Ga-Ya-Soh Creek may be enjoyed year-round by hikers and cross-country skiers with limited access areas for mountain bikers, horseback riders and snowmobilers.
Directions: From Rochester, NY, Take Interstate 390 south to Exit 7. Travel SR 408 South to SR 36 North. Follow signs to the park entrance about one mile away. This will be the Mount Morris entrance. This trail is located on the east side of the Gorge.
