Trail Description

Lake Solitude trail starts off of the Silver Lake Loop trail. Follow the boarded walkway (behind the Visitor's Center) to the right. Follow the path about 1/4 mile. This hiking, biking and backcountry skiing trail will fork with one path continuing around Silver Lake and the other heading straight. Take the straight path until you reach another junction. If you go left, you will be on the Twin Lakes trail. Continue straight for the Lake Solitude trail. Signs are posted for the trails.

Directions: From Salt Lake City, Follow Big Cottonwood Canyon Road (7000 South Wasatch Blvd.) to Brighton about 14.2 miles up the canyon to the Silver Lake Visitor's Center. Park at the Silver Lake Information Center or across the street at the Brighton Store.
