It's also a fine destination if you're looking for an alpine ramble past several pretty lakes. The Little Cottonwood Canyon trailhead is in Albion Basin. From here, the path, also known as Lake Catherine Trail, climbs to 10,220-foot Catherine Pass and drops to the namesake lake. The trail continues past lakes Martha and Mary to Brighton Overlook (Dog Lake is about 500 feet south) and descends to Brighton Resort in Big Cottonwood Canyon.
