This is a steep road (17% grade) to the parking area for vehicles. The self-guided nature trail begins across the footbridge.

From Crescent City take 101 south. Make a left onto Bald Hills Rd. The trailhead is 2 miles up Bald Hills Road at the Lady Bird Johnson parking area.

Follow an old logging road through a mature redwood forest to the site of the national park dedication and a view of Lost Man Creek drainage.
