Description

This trail leads from the Koomer Ridge Campground passing along a dry ridge top for 2 miles, then descends down to rocky and clear Chimney Top Creek. Plant life Is pine/hardwood stands on the ridge where Huckleberry, Blueberry, and Greenbrier prevail and moist heath rhododendron understory. In the cove there are hardwoods below along the creek.

Directions

Turn South off the Mountain Parkway at Slade, KY to Highway 11. Follow Hwy. 11 North 0.1 mile to Hwy. 15. Travel East on Hwy. 15 4.9 miles to Koomer Ridge Campground on the left. Take left fork in campground and park in the backpackers parking lot 634B on left.
