Trail Description

The Keane Wonder Mine Trail follows the line of an aerial tram up a steep grade to a chloride mine. The trail begins at the ruins of a stamp mill and gains 1,500 feet en route to the mine. Do not enter the mine as it is unstable and hazardous. Any historical artifacts should be left on site so that future generations can enjoy them.

Directions: From Furnace Creek, Follow 190 northward to the Beatty Cutoff. Turn right on to this road between Beatty Junction and Hell's Gate. Turn right on the first dirt road of the cut off, this is Keane Mill Road. Follow this to the parking area.

This is a very steep, narrow trail that runs from mill ruins to a mine 1,500 feet above and offers sweeping views of Death Valley.
