Trail Description

The Juniper Canyon Trail leads southward from the Chaparral Ranger Station. The trail follows a small drainage, that dumps into the West Fork of Chalone Creek, to it's head. Upon leaving the stream the trail begins a series of switchbacks. At the end of the switchbacks the trail terminates at Tunnel Trail. The length of this trail is 1.2 miles one-way. It is considered strenuous by the monument staff.

Directions: From Soledad, Follow Highway 146 12 miles to the Chaparral Ranger Station. The trail begins from the southern end of the parking area.

This trail leads 1.2 miles to connect with Tunnels Trail in the western district of the monument. It provides excellent views of the area.
