Description

The paved trail leaves Chimney Top Road and passes through pine hardwoods and finally out to a breathtaking overlook on the cliff above Chimney Top Rock. From there, the hiker can see Courthouse Rock, Raven Rock, Claudsplitter Rock, Half Moon Rock and other broad cliff and Red River Gorge Scenes It is very scenic and rich in local flora of Whorled Pogonia, Mountain Tea, Stripped Wintergreen, and Pink Lady Slipper.

Directions

Turn South off the Mountain Parkway at Slade. KY to Highway 11. Follow Hwy. 11 North 0.1 miles to Hwy. 15. Travel East an Hwy. 15 7.0 silos to Hwy. 715 on the left. Travel North on Hwy. 715 2.1 miles to Chimney Top Road. Follow. Chimney Top Road 3.6 miles to its terminus.
