A magnificent view of the one mile long gorge is the gift hikers will get when they reach the overlook on the one-quarter mile long Canyon Overlook Trail. Begin from the nature trail parking area following the gate onto a gravel road bearing left. Guests can enjoy a short but scenic hike.

Directions: From Cumberland, MD, Take Interstate 68 east about 10 miles to exit 50. After entering the park, continue straight following signs to lodge. Bear left at the lodge and proceed 1 mile to trailhead parking.

Venture beyond Canyon Overlook Trail for sights that include an historical homesite, Allegheny Mountains and a Mason-Dixon marker.
