An informative booklet available at the park office explains the 16 learning stations on Brachiopod Trail. The guide talks about the flora, fauna, geology, and archaeology of the park. A brachiopod was a one-footed clam-like creature whose fossils remain in the rock from many millions of years ago. The interpretive booklet also provides information on the area's dolomite limestone, chain coral, horn coral, Middle Woodland Indians -- residents of the region in 100 A.D., forest dunes, the American beech, and much more. The trail surface is crushed limestone making it wheelchair accessible. Boardwalks ease wetland stretches.

Directions: From Sturgeon Bay, WI, Travel northeast for nine miles along Hwy. 57 / 42. Turn east on Clark Lake Road. Proceed miles to the park entrance. The trail starts alongside the interpretive center.
