This trail passes through old growth redwood forest with vistas of the coast. Boat creek is spring fed all year.

From Crescent City take 101 south. Take the trailhead to West Ridge Trail and head north. The trailhead for Boat Creek starts from Friendship Ridge Trail approximately 1/2 mile southwest of juntion with the West Ridge Trail.

This trail follows a creek through a steep canyon that was logged during World War I to provide spruce wood for the building of airplanes.
