The Beaver Lodge Interpretive Trail is a wonder and easy way to learn about Michigan's Upper Peninsula wildlife. Interpretive brochures available at the trailhead enhance the visitor's 1.25-mile excursion. Between the months of May and July, the abundant wildlife is most visible. The quiet visitor may get a glimpse of beaver, muskrat, mink, black ducks, wood ducks, grebes, mallards, and sandhill cranes. This short trail overlaps briefly with the North Country Trail - Bessemer Segment affording great wildlife viewing opportunities.
Directions: From Nisula, MI, Travel west along M-38 about 5 miles. Turn left (south) onto FR 16. Take FR 16 approximately 6 miles. Turn right (west) onto Port Road and proceed another mile or so turning left (south) onto Bob Lake Road. Follow signs to lake and campground area.
