Beaver Spring Mountain Pond Loop travels around Launt Pond beginning along the eastern shore in the day use area. This trail offers sights of amphibians and a large variety of small woodland and wetland animals. Spring and summer hikers will be rewarded with wildflower sights including starflower, Mayflower and tender violets. The path travels through a thin woods of maple, oak, beech, hemlock and pine.
Directions: From Walton, NY, Travel approximately 5 miles southeast along SR 206 and follow signs to Bear Spring Mountain Campground. The trail begins from the north end of the day use parking lot.
The easy 1.2 mile loop around Launt Pond offers a wooded path dotted with wildflowers and sights of beaver activity.
