The trail parallels the Tongue River on the south side winding through aspen, pine and cottonwood until it ends at the Cutler Creek and Box Canyon area, where the historic sawmill town of Rockwood once existed. (it is possible at this point to meet Forest Road #184 and follow it up to Highway 14 as an option) There are several old cabins still standing and other interesting sawmill remnants. It is a little over 3 miles to this point, making the total hike about 6.5 miles.
