Waders or tennis shoes are advised for the crossing. The trail begins on the east bank of the river and heads up-river through meadow for about 1/8 mile to cross Barney Creek. Now on the north bank of the creek, the trail turns abruptly to the northeast, leaves the river and heads up the Barney Creek Canyon. For the next 2.2 miles, the trail is mostly level as it travels through the densely forested valley floor, eventually coming to a large meadow where ther are potential campsites. From the meadow, the trail leaves Barney Creek, heads north ascending moderately following tiny Argument Creek for .4 mile to emerge at a low saddle dividing Argument and Moose Creeks. The trail ends here at Road #1532.
