Trail Description

Trail Begins: Mouth of Bacon Creek

TRAIL ENDS: This description pertains to the trail up to the District boundary. The trail continues on to Buffalo Meadows area on the Pinedale Ranger District.

Caution: portions of the access road are very rough and subject to washouts and flooding during rainstorms. It may not be passable to motor vehicles. It becomes treacherous when wet so get out if it looks like rain is coming.

Directions: From Jackson, Follow road past the bridge over the river at Follow Hwy. 191 north and make a right on Gros Ventre Road. Follow Gros Ventre Road east past the bridge over the river at Upper Slide Lake to Gunsight Pass junction. Bear right and follow main road into Cottonwood Creek drainage. Bear right and follow main road into Cottonwood Creek drainage. Bear right at Cottonwood Creek/Fish Creek junction and follow road across Cottonwood and Fish Creeks to mouth of Bacon Creek.

This trail begins at the mouth of Bacon Creek and ends at this description ends at the district boundary. The trail continues on to Buffalo Meadows area.
