The trail follows a clear, rushing river perfect for cooling off in the hot summer. The moderate climb winds through beautiful forest. The trail ends dramatically at Avalanche Lake which is a large, beautiful glacial-green pool surrounded by spectacular mountains and waterfalls. It's a perfect spot for a picnic and a photo opportunity with the family. And the chipmunks are very friendly and enormously cute!
