Early morning or off-season ocean side walks are more pleasurable than the crowded summer shoreline. The park is divided into two areas, this one the busiest. You'll be treated to beautiful panoramic views out into the Great North Atlantic. Looking inland, you'll view of native protected sand dunes and grasses. Shorebirds are abundant when sunbathers are not. The trail extends both ways from the picnic ground; traveling west takes you past the campground.
Directions: From Montauk, NY, Travel 4 miles southwest along SR 27. Bear right to the campground and picnic area. The trail travels along the shore of the Atlantic.
This shore-going trail is enjoyed most during the off-season. Sunbathers dominate in summer.
