These trails provide year-round opportunities to learn about Assateague's ecosystems, and especially to watch and listen for some of the 300-plus bird species found around the island. Make the most out of trail signs with a guide from the off-island visitor center. Remember to take along field glasses, bird guides, appropriate clothing, sun protection, and insect repellent.
