Description

This trail begins on the northwest side of Aspen Mountain and ends at the Flying T Springs Trail. It provides access into an unroaded portion of the Forest. The trail receives light usage (less than 30 users) each season of the year. Vegetation goes from mixed conifer to oak brush and pinyon juniper. The trail begins at an elevation of 8750 ft. and drops to an elevation of 7950 ft. There is no water source along the trail. Pack in water.

Directions

Take U.S. Highway 180 south from Luna to FR 209. Take FR 209 for 6.5 miles to the trailhead.

TRAIL BEGINS: 8750 ft. elevation (2569 m.) From U. S. Highway 180, south of Luna, turn southwest onto FR 209 for 6.5 miles to trailhead (at Aspen Mountain Fire Road).

TRAIL ENDS: 7950 ft. elevation (2334 M.)
