Click here to edit!Aspen Grove Trail begins with an easy mile of pavement to the first falls. The trail is mostly moderate with a few short, steep sections and numerous switchbacks.
Vegetation
Common trees along the way include aspen, Douglas fir, subalpine fir, chockcherry, maple, limber pine, and oak. Common flowers include blue-bells, forget-me-not, alpine buttercup, columbine, sugarbowl, clematis, rose, thimbleberry, shrubley, cinquefoil, lupine, green gentian, scarlet gilia, owl clover, butter-and-eggs, penstemon, western coneflower, wallflower, elder-berry, and many others.

Aspen Grove Trail begins at the west side of the parking lot for Theater-in-the-Pines Picnic Area, on the North Fork of Provo Canyon (Alpine Loop), next to the BYU Aspen Grove Camp.
On the way, views to the east of Deer Creek, Herber, and the eastern mountains are offered while you pass numerous wild flowers and small waterfalls. From the area of Hidden Lakes (4.3 miles), the easy trail crosses rocky, high alpine meadows to Emerald Lake and Emerald Lake shelter.
