Click here to edit! This easy walk takes you to what some call the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River's most famous view spot. Here you are afforded sweeping views of 308-foot-high Lower Falls. Note the beautiful green stripe in the water that forms the falls. This coloring is caused by a notch located at the top of the falls, which allows a deeper, less turbulent stream of water to pass over the lip of the falls, making it appear more green than the water around it.
DirectionsTurn right off the Grand Loop Road, about 13 miles north of Fishing Bridge, onto South Rim Drive. Follow this for roughly 2 miles, to the end of the road.
