  • Seven walking trails and a 16-mile driving tour loop are offered at the refuge.
  • Observation towers and boardwalks are present on most of the trails to allow for better wildlife viewing.

Description

Native animals and migratory birds call the 115,000-acre refuge home. A sizable flock of endangered whooping cranes seeks shelter here, as well as alligator, javelina, and armadillo.
