General Information: A nice day hike out of Salmon Meadows campground. After 1 mile the trail branches with Angle Pass trail #344 on the right, and Mutton Ridge trail #365 on the left. This trail is the main east-west trail crossing the Pasayten Wilderness and tying together the other major access trails. The route varies from timbered valleys to long side hills and high ridge routes. Much of the eastern portion of the trail is above timberline. The trail connecting along this trail makes many loop trips possible. The Horseshoe Basin, Remmel/Cathedral, and Sheep Mt. areas are all popular with stock users because of the plentiful graze. Grazing is limited west of the Bunker Hill area. The trail passes near 8 fishing lakes and several rivers. Lake shores are very sensitive areas; please locate your camp well away from them. Stock users should consider tying up well before reaching the lake and walk the rest of the way. Revegetation efforts are underway at Upper Cathedral Lake and Quartz Lake. These sites are posted; please allow them to rest and recover.
