Trail Description

The Angel Staircase Trail provides a tie between the Summit Trail and Twisp Ranger District's Martin Creek and Foggy Dew Trails. The first half mile has very little tread and is marked with cairns. Switchbacks begin at a little less than half a mile and end at the top of the ridge. This point, at over 8,000 feet, is one of the highest trail access points in the State of Washington. There are no campsites along the trail. The route is very rough and primitive for horse travel and is recommended for only experienced stock and handlers.

Directions: From Summit Trail, This route provides a tie between the Summit Trail and Twisp Ranger District's Martin Creek and Foggy Dew Trails.
