General Information: The trail gently ascends the river bottom, mostly in mature forest. Near the pass the trail enters sub alpine forest and meadow areas. The trail ends in the rolling upland meadow country of Spanish Camp. There are few outstanding views until one reaches Andrews Pass and the Spanish Camp there are miles of open country to wander in. The Remmel/ Spanish Camp area is very popular with horse users as there is plentiful graze and many side trips. For the angler, nearby lakes Remmel, Upper and Lower Cathedral, Airview and Cornwell all have trout in them, as well as Andrew Creek. The Remmel/Spanish Camp/ Cathedral areas are the ideal place to establish a base camp and do day hikes. Because this is such a popular area, care should be taken to locate your camp where it will cause minimum impact to the land and preferably out of sight of the trail. Revegetation work is taking place around the upper Cathedral Lake area. The site is posted and a hitch rail has been built back away from the lake for tying stock. Please allow the posted area to rest and recover.
