Description

There is adequate parking at the Alexander Mountain trailhead for several vehicles on either side of the road. No restrooms or stock facilities are available. This trail offers a scenic overlook of Lake Koocanusa after .5 miles on the trail and is suitable for a short hike to the overlook or for a more rugged day hike. Developed camping and fishing are available at McGillivray Campground, 3 miles north of the trailhead.

Directions

From Libby, travel approximately 12 miles northeast on Highway 37. Turn left onto the Forest Development Road (FDR) and travel for approximately 5 miles to the trailhead.
