The ridge is open and has scattered trees providing a spectacular view of the Pend Oreille and Columbia River Valleys. The first mile of the trail crosses a regenerated crealcut and several streams. The trail travels through and old burn with standing snags and openings. A rockpile on the main ridge is where the trail ends. A few dispersed campsites are along the way. At the end of the established trail you can follow ridges to extend your trip.
NOTE: The weather in this area changes very abruptly, so dress in layers and carry adequate food and water.
